My interest in exploring the workings of human brain and body comes from my own experiences. Understanding how it works and looking for different ways of perceiving or uncovering the invisible gives me a chance to understand the issues we are all having in the human condition.
bio:
Ieva Viksne (1990) is a new media artist that currently resides in Riga. Graduated Virtual reality and smart technologies Masters program in Vidzeme University of Applied Sciences. Graduated from the Liepaja University with a BA in new media art, University of Latvia with BA in history, ISSP school’s 2 year program in photography, photography course in Andrejs Grants studio.
Working with virtual reality, biometric data, augmented reality, photography, digital image, video, performance, creative coding, photogrammetry.
Interested in perception, alternative interfaces, virtual environments, different bodies, artificial nature, topics connected to human cognition, body, feminism, mental health, education, self-representation in public (also digital) space.
